English Language Acting & Storytelling Workshops in Dublin

Creative workshops for language schools and student groups designed to build confidence, communication, and spoken English through live participation.

About the Facilitator

I am a professional actor, storyteller, and experienced group facilitator, with a background in both performance and education.

I have previously taught English as a foreign language in Dublin and abroad, and have lived in Germany, Italy, and Greece. Through this, I understand the experience of learning and using a new language — particularly the challenge of building confidence in speaking.

My workshops are designed not only to be engaging and enjoyable, but to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and participating in English.

Why Student Groups Work With Me

  • Professional actor, storyteller, and experienced group facilitator
  • Workshops designed to build confidence and spoken English
  • Engaging, interactive format that encourages participation
  • Clear communication and straightforward organisation
  • Adaptable to different age groups, levels, and group sizes

What Students Experience

These workshops offer something slightly different from traditional classroom learning. By focusing on participation, creativity, and real interaction, students often find they become more comfortable speaking English naturally and confidently.

Students take part in a relaxed, creative session where they are encouraged to speak, listen, and engage in English through live interaction.

Workshops may include:
  • Acting and storytelling exercises
  • Guided speaking and listening activities
  • Improvisation and creative expression
  • Group interaction and participation
  • A supportive and enjoyable learning environment
  • Projects, such as a short film or short play
To arrange a session for your students, please get in touch to discuss availability and group requirements.

What Language Schools Say

Albery E

"We did a two-hour tour with 22 German students, concentrating on sights and Irish History. The walk was very interesting, Cathal succeeded in combining historical facts with interesting details and little stories. The students, who have been learning English for about 6.5 years could understand him easily and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. And even the weather was perfect!"

"Cathal led our group of teenage Spanish students on a walking tour of Dublin last month. I cannot recommend him highly enough! He adapted the tour perfectly to suit a group of tired, not very attentive, teens! Adapting his language and the route to make everything appeal much more to them. He knows Dublin like the back of his hand, is very knowledgeable and easy going. He even got them all singing!"

"Absolutely top shelf. We spent a fun, informative and incredibly memorable day with Cathal in Dublin. Terrific at making it fun to explore and learn about Dublin for our group of 18 (ages 16 to 60). Extraordinary knowledge of the history, culture, geography and festive sides of Dublin. And lots of laughs! A bit of singing, dancing, poetry (Cathal is a professional actor) and more. He is the consummate professional in all arrangements, communications and logistics. We have had tour guides in several countries and Cathal gets our absolute highest recommendation. Thanks, Cathal, for a fun and memorable day!"

"Thanks so much Cathal, it was a joy having you with us at the Fountain Youth Project. The young people from Basin Street absolutely loved the sessions and gained so much confidence from your guidance. Seeing their creativity come alive in See Me, Hear Me was something really special. Grateful for the collaboration and all you brought to the project Cathal."
